Description
Situated in the cool climate of Victoria ‘s Macedon Ranges Curly Flat has long been regarded as one of Australia ‘s finest producers of Pinot Noir and indeed one of the “superstars ” of this region.
From the winemaker … Our approach towards Rosé at Curly Flat is to make the wine from 100% dedicated Pinot Noir fruit. as opposed to the alternate method of saigneé …We have always considered Rosé a serious wine style. and this release is no exception to our rule. Bone dry. fragrant and ripe whilst expressing savoury varietal characters. we couldn ™t ask for much more. ”
95 points Tyson Steltzer … “Phillip Moraghan visited this week and pulled one of the most exciting rosés of the season out of his bag. Made in tiny quantities by hand and foot (yes. foot stomped). this is an unusually pale and gorgeously fragrant rosé with restrained wisps of pink pepper. pomegranate and rose petals. The palate is all about texture. consummately refined and elegant. with perfectly handled phenolics. stalks and lees texture uniting to create a silky mouthfeel. ”
90 Points James Halliday .. “a lightly fragrant and savoury bouquet of red fruit. bramble and anise. tangy acidity an a dry finish. make for a fresh and refreshing Euro styled rose. ”
Campbell Mattinson from The Wine Front .. “Light. refreshing. crisp. attractive. You can really bang this one down. it ™s just so easy to drink. Spice and dried herbs. fennel and light red berries. Everything trips lightly here …it ™s a gorgeously dry. savoury style of rose. “
