Chardonay Pinot Noir blend handpicked fruit from vines 16 to 26 years old, 3 years on yeast lees .. Creamy palate with integrated acid providing balance to this unctuous yet elegant wine. Strawberry, stone fruit, citrus and pastry characters provide further structure. Balance is maintained through to the back of the palate and finishes with excellent length. 13% alc.

Although it is a demi-sec style, the sweetness is beautifully integrated and it gives weight and length to the palate, and there are enough savoury flavours to balance the sweetness. It is like dessert in a glass.”

It tastes of cooked apple and toffee with flashes of strawberry and toast too. There’s plenty of colour to the wine; you’d call it ‘pale crimson’ but it’s easy to see copper and magenta colours too. It is sweet but it finishes fresh, almost crisp; it’s not syrupy or excessive. It offers reasonable depth of flavour too. It’s not for everyone but it’s pretty well done.”
