Description
A winery with great pedigree, Triennes is a joint venture between Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and is located in the Var, to the East of Aix en Provence. Farmed organically since 2008, the aim of the estate is to produce wines that speak clearly of the bright sky and diverse terroirs of the region. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault, Merlot, Grenache and Viognier provide the raw materials for their stunning range of wines from their pale, savoury rose through to the characterful rich reds for which Provence has become famous.
About this wine: Principally Cinsault blended with Grenache, Syrah and Merlot. Harvested at night so that the grapes are cool upon arrival in the winery. Pressed after a few hours of skin contact. Fermented at low temperature until dry. Pale pink in colour, this wine has a bouquet of strawberries and white flowers with hints of vanilla. It has the harmony and elegance that has earned worldwide appreciation of the rosés of Provence.
93 points, 5 stars, Sam Kim, Wine Orbit “It’s delicately lifted on the nose, with aromas of crunchy apple, wild strawberry, white flower, and subtle spice, followed by a finely balanced palate that’s juicy and vibrant. Elegant and poised with a lingering, refreshing finish. “
90 Points, Natalie Earl, Decanter “Always a solid option for a rosé craving. Famously owned by Burgundy’s Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine de Triennes is in the Var region of Provence, although this is labelled as IGP Méditerranée. Don’t overthink it. Just drink it. Big zesty aromas precede a palate that’s layered with sweet and succulent berry fruit with a chewy texture and lacy delicate finish.”
