Description
Brian Croser has pioneered Pinot Noir at the Foggy Hill vineyard in Parawa, Fleurieu Peninsula – the coldest site in South Australia, provides the natural terroir for Pinot Noir with similar climate in Burgundy. 2012 was a wonderful vintage at Foggy Hill, warmer than average. This is a deep and brooding young wine although the intensity of Pinot Noir fruit character is already very evident. Ripe Pinot Noir aromas of black berry-fruits, exotic spice, anise and delicate florals have added complexity of earthy terroir derived characters. What you smell is what you taste in this wine but with a core of sweet fruit on the middle palate and very definite and refined tannin finish. Brian Croser calls this his “experiement” .. well what an experiment!
95 points James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2015 … “Arguably the best Tapanappa Pinot Noir to date. The bouquet is complex, with a light touch of oak. The fruit takes in both berries and plums, and the silky palate is as well balanced and focused as it is long.”
