Description
Maison Chanson Père et Fils is one of the oldest ‘houses’ of Beaune (founded in 1750) and also one of the larger owners of Beaune premier cru vineyard. Bollinger took over in 1999 and this saw Chanson take on a new lease of life.
“This beautiful house from Beaune … has now fully found its mark and style. It competes with the best thanks to their wines with clear and pure style, both white and red. A state of the art winery and the relevant advice of Jean-Pierre Confuron, in the vineyards as well as in the winery, explain the very clear expression across the wide range of Domaine wines.” REVUE DU VIN de FRANCE -Guide Edition 2012 (France’s leading wine magazine)
Careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and winery have produced exceptional red wines with very pure aromas. Grapes are exclusively sourced from select vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, from plots of Domaine Chanson and from terroirs located in the south of the Côte de Beaune.
2015 was an exceptional growing season in Burgundy. From the winemaker … “Bright red colour. Intense aromas of ripe berries mixed with liquorice and spices. Complex and well crafted. Crunchy texture and well integrated tannins. Long and refreshing aftertaste.”
90 points, Wine Spectator “This has some density to the cherry, berry, spice and smoke flavors, but remains ripe and charming. Firms up on the finish, where earth and spice notes mingle. Drink now through 2023.”
