Description
Winemaker, David Hook “cut his teeth” along side Murray Tyrrell, worked at Lakes Folly and widely as a flying winemaker in France and Spain. With 25 years experience, he makes exceptional wines with regional and varietal character to reflect the place of origin.
This native grape of piedmont in Italy, was grown in a vineyard in the foothills of Mount Canobolas (near Orange). The cool climate and ancient volcanic soils combined produce high quality grapes with good intensity of flavour and high natural acidity. Classic varietal characters of dark cherry, prune and spice. This medium to full bodied red has good structure with firm velvety tannins balanced by good acidity (barbera and sangiovese retain more acidity than shiraz and cabernet).
This drinks beautifully – Bring on the pasta and pizza. Salute!
