Longhop Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 gets 91 points and is “..set to prosper”.
Longhop (joint winemaking venture between high school friends, Tim Freeland and Dominic Torzi are very good producing top quality vino at a tiny price. The Longhop Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 is no exception. James Halliday recently scored it 91 points and said ….”From the One Tree Hill and Hillier areas. Like the Old Plains Shiraz, it’s been whole berry, wild yeast, open-fermented and basket-pressed, the ferment finishing in American and French oak, and then 14 months maturation. It has a deeper and brighter colour than the Shiraz, the bouquet and palate leaving no doubt about the variety, with blackcurrant, black olive and firm tannins all in place. It needs 3 years, and will prosper for 10 or more.”
