Jed Malbec 2008 excellent Argentinian Malbec.

Rhys in January this year caught up with Jed Winemaker, Tom Egan at his winery in the Uco Valley, Mendoza Argentina.   It was an exciting trip and a chance to retry our Jed favourites in their place of origin!  Jed Malbec 2008 from the cooler climate of the Uco Valley fosters the development of the bright cherry flavours and  fine tannin structure.  Jed Malbec is made in the traditional style, which is medium bodied with violet characters underpinned by dark licorice aromas. 70% aged in 2nd/3rd use French/American oak to showcase the trademark fine/ ripe tannins of Mendoza Malbec.    Beautifully fragrant “vino tinto” has cascading flavours of wild blackberries, aniseed, leather and spice. Love the intensity of fruit on the palate and fine grained silky tannins. Love the intensity of fruit on the palate and fine grained silky tannins. Beautiful balance in this fine medium bodied red. Sip on this and you will hear the accordion and feel the intensity and style of tango!
