Fontodi Chianti Classico 2008 recieved a terrific review in the SMH by Jane Faulkner … “Fontodi is one of my favourite Tuscan producers. It’s based in Panzano and its beautiful vineyards are farmed biodynamically. While Chianti Classico can include other red varieties, this is 100 per cent sangiovese. Give it time to open up – it’s so much better the next day. It’s youthful and vibrant with a core of juicy, dense black fruit, wood and earth, with hints of juniper and dried sage. It has very good acidity, with the distincy and appealing sangiovese savoury-sour notes sitting alongside ripe, firm and grainy tannins. The perfect match? A big, juicy steak.” June 15, 2013.
