Since its founding in 1978, Oakridge has been making wine in the Yarra Valley and has evolved as an outstanding winery, regularly producing wines of exemplary quality. Bordered by the mountains of the Great Dividing Range and stretching across 10 hectares of vines along Maroondah Highway, the family-owned estate is dedicated to producing outstanding and distinctive wines while providing visitors with a truly memorable wine and food experience.
A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – handpicking and whole bunch pressing directly to 500 litre French oak puncheons for a natural fermentation followed by 10 month maturation on lees.
About 2019 … A warm, wet spring followed by a dry summer and autumn period has delivered good crops in near perfect harvesting conditions.
Notes from the winemaker “Pale straw with green hues. Grilled citrus, yeast, white fleshed stone fruit, peach skin, flecks of flint, hints of florals and burnt match complexity. The palate has depth, weight and texture. It crashes across like a wave leaving a sense on generosity and concentration but without losing its shape as the taught preserved-lemon acidity keeps it on line leaving a tangy, very long grapefruit finish.”

Feels very energetic, an agenda to move fast, keep you hydrated and refresh the palate. Very precise, is another thing to say. A bit more juice and detail than some of the more skeletal Oakridge chardonnay releases. Really dig it.”
