From the winery: “At Helen’s Hill Estate, Pinot Noir is by far our biggest grown variety. We have over 50 acres of the stuff! We have been growing it for many years, supplying well known Pinot Noir labels such as Coldstream Hills and producing our own Helen’s Hill label. Experience counts when it comes to Pinot Noir and at Helen’s Hill Estate we have certainly had a lot of experiences, not all of them good, but all allowing us to learn what has to be done to make great Pinot.
About this wine: “Following traditional winemaking processes, utilizing full French oak maturation our Ingram Pinot Noir displays rich varietal characters on the nose, sweet cherry and strawberry flavours on the front and mid palate with a savoury, earthy (spicy) finish on the back palate. Thanks to the French oak, the wine has a wonderful full textural mouth weight and long lasting finish. This is Single Vineyard Yarra Valley Pinot Noir at unbeatable value.”
Delicate, easy-drinking Pinot Noir at its best! 2023 reveals strawberries and cherries jumping out of the glass at you, inviting you to taste. On the palate, the fun continues with generous red fruits and the slightest hint of silky tannins to this elegant Pinot the structure required. Drink now until 2027.
91 Points, Philip Rich, James Halliday Wine Companion “Destemmed and aged in seasoned barriques. A light crimson-ruby red. Quite reductive when first poured and needs a few good swirls, or a decant, even. Underneath there’s an attractive array of red fruits, spice and floral notes. Shines on the palate with its good depth of fruit and supple, balanced tannins. Good value, too.“
